Kirby Lindsay

The Seattle City Council is now accepting comments, in writing, by May 15th, on proposed amendments, submitted by Councilmembers Nick Licata and Sally Clark, governing production, processing, selling and delivery of marijuana and marijuana products in the City of Seattle.

The amendments under review include:

  • Allow existing businesses to continue operation, be ‘grandfathered in’, after proposed regulations go into effect
  • Clarify the definition of “food processing” uses
  • Modify the amount of production, processing, selling, or delivery of marijuana, marijuana-infused products, or useable marijuana that can be conducted in certain residential and historic character areas such that the limits would apply per month rather than at any one time

Electronic copies of the full proposal may be obtained online.  Questions regarding the proposal may be directed to Rebecca Herzfeld at 206/684-8148 or at rebecca.herzfeld@seattle.gov
