The Seattle Department of Parks & Recreation will host two community meetings to discuss renovations to the Woodland Park play area, located at 1000 N 59 St.  The first meeting will take place Wednesday, July 18th, from 7 – 9 p.m. at the Phinney Neighborhood Association (Room 1,) located at 6532 Phinney Ave N.

This renovation project, identified in the Parks and Green Spaces Levy, will include installation of new play equipment, site improvements and improvements of access to facilitate use of the play area by all users.

The community meeting on July 18th will give more detailed information on the schedule and budget for the project, and allow input on the play equipment.  For now, the proposed schedule has the existing play area open through the summer of 2013, and closing for construction in late autumn 2013.

A second community meeting will take place in October, when Parks representatives will present play area design options and gather further input on the potential plans.

For more information, and to fill out a survey about the play area, please visit the Seattle Parks project website, or contact Pam Liment, Project Planner, at 206/684-7047 or pamela.kliment@seattle.gov.
