On Wednesday, March 21st, at 8a, the Fremont Chamber of Commerce will host an open meeting, with Mayor Jenny Durkan, sponsored by Hale’s Ales and Fred Meyer, on public safety, homelessness, vandalism and drug use.  Please join your neighbors, and local business owners and employees, at Hale’s Ales Brewery, for this important discussion of the issues of most concern to those of us working, playing and living at the Center of the Universe.

Since being elected last fall, this is the first time Seattle Mayor Durkan, and her team, have come to Fremont to talk with us.  Neighbors are encouraged to listen to what Mayor Durkan is doing in regards to neighborhood safety, for small businesses and residents, and how she plans to improve our current crime problems.  Mayor Durkan will also discuss the ‘Only In Seattle’ initiative, a $1.2 million investment in 23 neighborhood business districts, with grants and support intended to help area businesses thrive.

Time will also be given for attendees to give Durkan information about the crime problems of most concern to them, and their ideas for solutions.  Expect a lively discussion, with the Mayor and other concerned neighbors.

Advanced registration is required for this Fremont Chamber meeting, and there is a cost of $10 for Chamber members and $15 for non-members.  Please register on the Constant Contact page (click here,) or find more information on the Facebook event page.
