The Alzheimer’s Association Washington State Chapter is currently recruiting volunteers for facilitating Adults Caring for Parents Caregiver Support Groups, in Seattle and Kirkland.  This is a wonderful opportunity for making a powerful difference in the life of caregivers.

Caregiver Support Groups provide a consistent and supportive place for caregivers to learn, share, and gain much needed emotional support from others who are on the same journey of providing care to a person – in this case a parent – with memory loss.  The Alzheimer’s Association chapter provides excellent training, on-going support, resources and continuing education opportunities for volunteer facilitators.

The best qualified support group facilitators include working or retired social workers, nurse, and other healthcare professionals, educators, clergy, counselors, and former family caregivers.  A commitment to facilitate for one year is required.
