North Seattle College Offers Class In Chocolate At Barrel Thief

On Saturday, March 14th, from 1p – 3p, North Seattle College will offer a credited course in chocolate, taught by Christopher Gronbeck at his Fremont establishment, The Barrel Thief Wine & Whiskey Bar.  This educational (and very tasty) workshop, ‘The Wide World of Chocolate’, requires advance registration through the College.

In addition to managing The Barrel Thief, Gronbeck has been writing and teaching about wine and spirits for many years, and he has a 20-year history as an educator.  Best of all, he believes in eating and drinking to a better understanding of cultures around the world.

On March 14th, he will teach about the history of cacao, how it’s made into chocolate, and how to discern its more intricate flavors.  Students will also be able to sample a variety of chocolate from some of the best artisan chocolate makers in the world during this interactive workshop.

This course costs $35 for the one session, plus a $10 materials fee payable to the instructor.  Register through North Seattle College and attend this one-time-only class at The Barrel Thief.
