On Friday, April 3rd, from 6p – 9p, everyone is invited to take part in the art extravaganza and community exploration that is the Fremont First Friday Art Walk.

This month, for the first Art Walk held in Spring, venues involved are fewer in number but higher than ever in quality.  Get out strolling and enjoying the art, and the chance to step inside a dozen Fremont businesses, studios and shops.  Get the entire list of participating venues, and artists, on-line at the Fremont First Friday website.

Three worth special mention, and attention, are:

  • Portage Bay Goods, the gift shop for thoughtful procrastinators, has illustrations by Joseph Brooks.  These character works create worlds of stacked faces and monsters of various emotions, like the monsters under the bed that become familiar friends.  Meet the artist, a Pacific Northwest fine artist who has displayed his awesome art at venues all over Seattle, and check out his work alongside the other creative products scattered ‘round the shop.
'Pink Me 1' by Pamela Beer, now on display at Frame-Up Studios, April 2015.

  • Frame-Up Studios has beautiful paintings by Pamela Beer, showing an uncompromising vision all her own.  What began as a hobby 30-years-ago has evolved into a remarkable art career of pieces that reflect the world in which the simplicity of life and the complexity of living fully coexist.  Come look at these quality works, and explore that other treasures scattered around Fremont’s long-standing framing and art shop.
  • Pel’meni Dumpling Tzar has the photos of amateur photography of Kiana Fukuyama, following her recent experience teaching in Japan.  Take a journey with this travel photographer, while on the Art Walk in Fremont, and meet the artist in person.  Also, enjoy adult beverages and use the phrase ‘make art, not war’ for $1 off a purchase of the Pel’meni dumplings.

Come out and see the art, and support our arts community, with the Fremont First Friday Art Walk.  Check out the complete list of participating on the FFF website, and take your part in this free, monthly cultural event!
