The Fremont Arts Council (FAC) produces some of the most iconic celebratory arts events, and the non-profit needs help from members of our community to find more sustainable and long-term processes for organizing and funding its volunteer activities.  Attend one of the upcoming Leadership Team meetings and find out if this is something you could lend your energy, knowledge and/or expertise to getting done.

The FAC has three Leadership Teams in need of members, and they are:

  • Program & Events – Next Meeting on Tuesday, March 7th at The Powerhouse workshop – Help plan and produce the awesome and memorable events that have become a staple (and legendary) part of our community.  Also, aid volunteers in organizing art workshops for public education, and entertainment.  Right now, the FAC needs to begin planning for the 2017 Solstice Parade, and they need your help to make this the best ever!
  • Communications, Outreach & Development (COD) – Thursday, March 16th at Works Progress (115 N 85th St,) – Help plan and secure funding to sustain the FAC and its programs, including the Solstice Parade.  The FAC needs to refresh its fundraising and outreach materials, including its website and social media efforts, and any expertise in this area would be of enormous benefit to the non-profit.

  • Finance Operations & Governance (FOG) – Wednesday, March 22nd at Works Progress – Help organize and generate policies and procedures for the FAC, especially regarding financial systems, Powerhouse operations, IT systems, etc.  Those who get their geek on over spreadsheets and bullet points are encouraged to come lend some energy and enthusiasm to the FOG.

All three teams meet at 7p, with discussions scheduled to start by 7:10p and adjourn before 9p.  RSVP (or get directions) from volunteer@fremontartscouncil.org   Get more info from the Fremont Arts Council.org website, under Leadership Teams.

For those just looking to get their toes wet, and see the whole scope of what the FAC has going on, consider attending the COW (Committee Of the Whole) meeting on March 14th, at 7:10p at The Powerhouse.  In addition to discussing general business, and the recent Board Election, long-time FAC-er Maque daVis has announced that he will be showing some archival video of past Solstice Parades, for inspiration.

Come lend a hand to this incredible, volunteer-powered, hands-on organization.  Consider getting involved yourself, and help spread the word about this opportunity to make community celebration art, at the ground floor!
