Fourth (& Final) Public Meeting On Choosing Public Projects For Our District

On Tuesday, March 28th from 5:30p – 7:30p, at the Fremont Branch Library, the City of Seattle will host the final meeting in the ‘Project Development Phase of Your Voice, Your Choice.’  This is an opportunity to see which public works projects will be funded from the $2 million Street & Parks Funds.

This is the fourth of four meetings being held in District #6, and the only one in Fremont.  The public is welcome to attend and see how the decision will be made for choosing which proposals for improvements will make the final ballot.  Projects may include traffic circles, median islands, speed feedback signs, short sidewalk segments, park benches, natural area renovations, minor playground improvements or trail/path maintenance.

This is a Department of Neighborhoods Participatory Budgeting program, and the contact for it is Jenny Frankl, available at 206/396-0200 or jenny.frankl@seattle.gov  There is also information on the DON website, although the best way to understand what is happening – and whether we will get funding for a crosswalk at 1st Ave NW & N 36th St – is by attending and watching this new process in action!  Pre-register to attend on-line.
