Between now and May 5th, King County METRO has asked for public participation in an on-line survey on bus fares.

METRO is considering two options for changing bus fares for adult riders.  These changes would not affect fares for youth, seniors, disabled, ORCA LIFT, or Access riders.  METRO would like to make the adult fare structure easier to understand to speed up boarding and to reduce fare disputes.

METRO is asking for input about which of two options for change the public would prefer.  Current adult fares include extra charges for travel during weekday peak commute hours, and for trips that cross a zone boundary during peak hours.  Riders may pay $2.50, $2.75 or $3.25 depending on when and how far they may travel.  The two options under consideration are:

  • Option #1:  A single $2.75 far for travel any time, any distance
  • Option #2:  A $3.00 peak-period fare, and a $2.50 off-peak fare, with no extra charge for two-zone travel

Please consider filling out the on-line survey (click here) before May 5th.  Find more details on the METRO project website.
