A long-time dangerous intersection at Troll Avenue and N 34th Street, also known as Patches Place, has just gotten a traffic control signal, in operation as of September 12th.  For the time being, traffic revision signs are installed approaching the new signal in hopes that drivers, cyclists and pedestrians will take care and approach the intersection with caution.

Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) has added new crosswalk markings in all directions, along with clearer markings for the southbound bike lane, at the intersection.  Pedestrian push buttons are also installed, along with a vehicle detection system.  The intersection will also sync with the other intersections along N 34th St.

SDOT has posted a blog entry about the intersection that also reports plans to install an all-way stop directly in front of the Fremont Troll, at Troll Ave & N 36th St.

SDOT will monitor the operation of the new intersection, and will make adjustments as needed.  The blog post includes a contact phone number for those who have questions or concerns about this intersection.
