On Wednesday, January 24th, from 5:30p – 8p, Seattle Pacific University (SPU) will host a discussion on ‘Homelessness Advocacy 101’ with representatives from the Seattle/King County Coalition on Homelessness, all taking place in the Student Union Building Gazebo Room.

Currently, Seattle Pacific is hosting Tent City 3 on its campus, through February 10th.  This portable, self-managed community of men, women, and children provides temporary housing for approximately 100 people.  The settlement is co-sponsored by SHARE (Seattle Housing and Resource Effort) and WHEEL (Women’s Housing, Equality and Enhancement League).

On Jan 24th, residents from the Tent City, students from SPU, members of the community and homelessness advocates, can talk about the issues and complexities surrounding homelessness and affordable housing.  Learn about how we all can influence policy and funding at the city, state and federal levels.

Everyone is invited to participate in this free, and informative, evening.
