Pete’s Fremont Fire Pit Open Now

Now open, Pete's Fremont Fire Pit at 501 N 36th, at the former location of Santolea Photo by K. Lindsay, Jan 2012

Have you heard?  Pete’s Fremont Fire Pit has opened for lunch and dinner.  The first fully Fremont restaurant to celebrate the culture and craziness created here at the Center of the Universe, offers mouth-watering BBQ, burgers and booze.

The restaurant opens at 11:30a, closing from 3p – 5p on Mon – Thu, and staying open to 9p on Sundays, 10p Mon – Thu, and 1a on Fri & Sat.  The Fire Pit offers pulled pork, homemade chili, BBQ brisket, and a long list of burgers – with beef, chicken, pork or a homemade veggie patty.  The Fremont Fire Pit also offers take-out, and party sizes of its most popular items.

Inspired by the fire pit that once drew partiers, fire artists, dancing and community meals to the west end of Canal Park, the restaurant features a full-length mural of the fire pit view, by local artist Josh Brown.  Pete’s Fremont Fire Pit celebrates the casual, often spontaneous, and creative gatherings hosted there, displays art by local artists created for the Solstice Parade and Burning Man, and offers a place for good friends to gather for great food all year round.

While at Pete’s Fremont Fire Pit, expect to see familiar faces.  The proprietor, Peter Glick, already operates to other favorite eating establishments in Fremont – Roxy’s Diner and the Backdoor @ Roxy’s.  On the staff, he’s got Fremonster Jeannine Welfelt, a regular vendor at the Fremont Sunday Market.

Fremont has a lot of great restaurants, but this may be the first serving up Fremont-style, Fremont culture and Fremont fun!  Enjoy!
