On the morning of Saturday, January 24th, the Washington State Department of Transportation will close lanes on the Aurora Bridge to do inspections of the structure, and attempt to identify the source of a troubling noise.

From 7a – 9a, two northbound lanes will be closed, and from 9a – 1p, two southbound lanes are scheduled to close.  These times are approximate and traffic delays are expected.

During the closures, inspection trucks will lower crews over the sides of the 100 year old structure to assess any potential problem, and the possible cause of thumping noises being heard when large vehicles cross the bridge.

Please plan your travel accordingly, and pack along your patience for any possible delay.
