Best Of Fremont Update – Best Business & Best Organization 2014

While the votes of Fremocentrist.com readers were counted on January 1st, due to scheduling conflicts (and a few trips, a couple of cancelled meetings, a wedding…) it has taken until now for presentations of two of the awards to be done.

Fremont’s Best Business Of 2014 is Kaosamai Thai Restaurant & Catering.  Owners Doug and Sumalee Sommerville celebrated 10 years of their catering truck business in January of this year.  Specializing in fresh food served hot, Kaosamai has a lot of fans of their cuisine and their business acumen.  Read more in the feature column from December 2014.

Fremont’s Best Organization (or Project) of 2014 is Moisture Festival.  On stage now, this tremendously popular showcase presents performers from around our area, and the world, to audiences at Hale’s Palladium.  The non-profit organization also holds benefit shows, including one last week raising money for the Fremont Troll’s birthday (Trolloween) on October 31st.  Finally, thanks to MF, the improvements its required at Hale’s, and the sophistication its given to Fremont audiences, more and more creative theater has come here, such as Frank Olivier’s Twisted Cabaret, The ‘I Hate Children’ Children’s Magic Show, The Grimaldis Are Dead, StoryBook Theatre, HONK! Fest West, and we’ve drawn great fundraisers including ones for a Salvation Army homeless shelter and pediatric cancer research.

This year, celebrate these successful neighbors, plus Fremont’s Best Resident Mitzi Simmons, and let them know how much you appreciate their contributions!

Also, think about who can equal their efforts when you vote for Fremont’s Best Business, Resident and Organization/Project for 2015, starting at the end of November…
