Still Time To Comment & Give Ideas For Park Expansion At Our Library

If you missed the public input session last Sunday, there are still plenty of opportunities to give your ideas (or your ‘don’t wants’,) on development plans for the expansion of Ernst (Slippery Slope) Park – next door to the Fremont Branch Library – at 719 N 35th St.

The Seattle Department of Parks & Recreation has created a public survey, to collect information from locals who use, or want to use, the new green space.  This new area will be even closer to the center of the Center of the Universe, and could greatly improve daily lives in Fremont.  Construction on the Park Expansion is scheduled to commence next year, with completion at the end of 2017.

For the eventual design, Seattle Parks has contracted Site Workshop, who have collected design options for the public to choose among.  As vested community members, our background information, ideas, questions and concerns are needed to help direct and select our preferred options.

A meeting for collecting more input, from anyone willing to share, will take place Thursday, July 7th at 9a at the Site Workshop offices, at 222 Etruria Street, Suite 200.  Please call 206/233-0064 about accommodations.  Also, consider adding photos of suggested ideas to the Site Workshop Pinterest site.
