On Monday, April 24th, at 7p, at Doric Temple #92, the Fremont Neighborhood Council (FNC) will host its Annual Membership Meeting, with election of its Board of Directors and special guest speaker, District #6 City Councilmember Mike O’Brien.  In addition, the FNC will also take time to acknowledge the great contributions of Department of Neighborhoods Community Engagement Coordinator Karen Ko, as she is relocated to another area of Seattle, and welcome our new city liaison, Laurie Ames.

Councilmember O’Brien represents Fremont, west of Aurora Avenue, as well as Ballard, Greenwood and Blue Ridge.  Current Chair of the Seattle City Council Sustainability (Land Use) & Transportation Committees, O’Brien has spent seven years on the Council and considers environmental and social justice issues his primary concerns.  Please bring your questions, concerns and comments to this meeting, to share with the Councilmember (who lives in Fremont,) and your other neighbors.

The FNC will also share updates on on-going neighborhood projects, hear committee reports and welcome any new business area residents want to share, before the meeting adjourns at 8:30p.  The FNC advocates on behalf of the residents of Fremont, and that requires residents to share their concerns with this non-profit, all volunteer organization.  Find out more about the FNC through the website, on Facebook, or by attending this meeting on April 24th at 7p at Doric Lodge #92.
