On Monday, May 1st, see in the spring with a tour of the ‘Wines of Spain’ at The Barrel Thief Wine & Whiskey Bar.  The North Seattle College class takes place from 6:30p – 8:30p, and is an actual educational experience – along with being a delicious one!

Spain has more vineyard acreage than any other country, with a long, rich tradition of winemaking.  Taste your way through Spanish wine history, regions, grapes and classic styles, with certified sommelier David LeClaire and experienced instructor Christopher Gronbeck.  Cost is $39, plus a $10 materials fee payable at the door.  Pre-registration is required on the North Seattle College website.

Additionally, on Monday, May 22nd, from 6:30p – 8:30p, North Seattle College will host another educational experience – Make Your Own Cocktail Bitters.  Create seamless drinks at home, adding new depth with bitters.  Learn how to create a basic bitters base, experimenting with different infusions of aromatic plant extracts for custom flavors.  The class provides everything needed to craft two 4-oz. bottles of bitters, including the reusable infusion jars and dispensing bottles for taking home.  This class requires a payment of a $15 materials fee to the instructor, with pre-registration of $39 on-line to North Seattle College.

Both classes are open only to students ages 21+, with photo ID required.  It is also suggested that students eat before attending class.  Both classes take place at The Barrel Thief in Fremont, as part of continuing education through North Seattle College.
