First Community Work Party for the Fremont Wetlands Trail Park

Saturday, May 14th, from Noon – 4p, will be the first volunteer community party for the Fremont Wetland Trail Park.  Come out and help other Fremonsters – and anyone with a will to hike and explore nature in the middle of Seattle – clean up and start creating a community-based green space, just south of the Fremont Bridge.

Help clear out invasive plant species, pick up litter, collect up downed/dead plant material and plant new trees (poplars & willows) on what can, with your help, someday become the Rachel Carson Trail Park.

The neighboring Queen Anne Healthcare will provide ice cold water (bring your own bottle) and snacks.  Even if you only have a few minutes to give, come by and check out this new place to hike, escape the city, and touch nature – within a walking minute of Downtown Fremont.

Show up, bring your tools and get ready to work, and party.  All ages, experience levels and enthusiasms welcome to help create a park, literally from the grass roots level!

If you have questions, or tools, refreshments, and/or garbage transport donations to make, please contact David Roman.
