On Thursday, April 23rd, from 6p – 9p, and Saturday, August 25th, from Noon – 2p, join ‘Re-form – Transform – Collaborate!’ workshops led by Carl Smool. This is a call to re-energize and come together on a celebration of creative energy! Imagine working with people on a project larger than the sum of its parts – like the Fremont Arts Council Solstice Parade.
Let’s create a multi-ensemble; a moving, theatrical ‘patchwork’ of issues, ideas and concerns about the environmental, economic, social and political health of our fragile world.
Why collaborate? Bridge the divide between progressive issues to build a broad, democratic movement. The potential of a creatively interconnected culture is limitless. Bring new stories that enable us to see a better way to live on the planet, and help create a clear vision of how to get there. This is where culture excels; art has the ability to expand people’s imaginations, lift spirits and bring people together.
The 2015 Solstice Parade offers an excellent opportunity to manifest this vision. Bring your ideas! Bring your sense of humor, and your outrage, to get together as a group of ensembles working synergistically to create a spectacular theatrical experience, a passion play of the street, where every person has a creative role to play.
At these initial workshop meetings, everyone will gather to begin the creative mash-up and sharing of design ideas that make the Solstice Parade the spectacle audience have come to enjoy.
