This Saturday, July 29th, celebrate 80’s Prom Nights – whether for the first time or to recapture the memories – as several area establishments host Prom events.
At High Dive, starting at 9p, they will host the Seattle Debut of Prom Date Mixtape, a new 80’s New Wave & Synth-pop Tribute band. With years of experience fronting other tribute bands, several recognized musical talents have brought their love of all things 80s to this new musical act. With an all-star line-up and a meticulous sound they will re-create your favorite 80s hits, and many you may have forgotten but will love all over again. New fans often comment that they couldn’t tell Prom Date Mixtape was a band when they first heard them. This collaboration is brought together by the producers and musicians behind such well-known tribute acts as 80s Invasion and Black Celebration. Purchase tickets for $8 in advance on the High Dive website, or get them at the door for only $12.
To celebrate this auspicious debut, a Prom Night Pub Crawl and Scavenger Hunt has been organized, starting at 5:30p at Outlander Brewery & Pub. From 6p – 9p on July 29th, gather for a stroll among neighborhood drinking establishments – and break into teams for the scavenger hunt which ends at 9p at High Dive. Prizes will be given for teams with the most points, and for the best 80s prom costumes – including the crowning of a Prom King & Prom Queen! Pre-registration is recommended for the Scavenger Hunt (and includes the price of the pub crawl and the concert,) at Brown Paper Tickets.
As to the pub crawl, it will use the app Pub Rally and will include food along the route with participants encouraged to eat as no one wants to hold your hair while you puke, and anyone throwing up will be photographed and publically shamed on social media forever! Also, respect for those on the crawl route but not with the crawl is requested – and anyone arrested will not get a refund and their mugshot will be commandeered and put up on Facebook to be mocked! Unwanted lewd behavior or physical inappropriateness will not be tolerated – unless, of course, you have consent, and then who are we to judge. No matter what, have fun, be safe and make a total fool of yourself!
