This weekend enjoy two nights of celluloid out under the stars! On Friday, August 5, the Fremont Outdoor Cinema presents the 40th Anniversary celebratory screening of A Clockwork Orange, after the Fremont First Friday Art Walk. On Saturday, August 6th, the parking lot get down and dirty as audiences enjoy Pulp Fiction.
The Stanley Kubrick, ultra-violent, hyper-stylized A Clockwork Orange remains an unequaled masterpiece, starring Malcolm McDowell. This adaptation of the Anthony Burgess novel addresses themes far more relevant today than they were in 1971, when the movie originally came out. If you’ve never seen it, this film demands a viewing. If you’ve always loved it, you’ve never seen it like this!
Ditto for the seminal Quentin Tarantino film Pulp Fiction. Filled with extraordinary characters realized by a stellar cast including Bruce Willis, Uma Thurman, Samuel L. Jackson, Tim Roth, Christopher Walken, Amanda Plummer, Ving Rhames, and Harvey Keitel, this film has most often been credited with resurrecting the career of John Travolta, and showing that he can, actually, act. As a movie full of memorable quotes, moments and moves, this is a favorite that demands a night out at the Fremont Outdoor Movies.
Bring your chair, sofa or futon, and stake your place in line to get a good campsite. Gates open at 7p-ish. $5 per person entry fee, includes entertainment (including games in which participation is included in the entry fee, but blackmail photos may cost extra…) Movie starts at dusk!
