On Saturday, June 16th, the Fremont Solstice Parade, as produced by the Fremont Arts Council (FAC), will return to our streets at 1p. This will be the 30th Annual Parade, and it will be followed by the FAC’s annual Solstice Celebration at Gas Works Park.
For those curious about the creation of these legendary events, from a scholastic aspect or simply as a nosy neighbor, Fremocentrist.com has put together one of its most colorful and outrageous (and always free) Fremont Fireside Chats for Saturday, May 26th at 2p at the Fremont Branch of the Seattle Public Library.
Get the Fremont Solstice Parade & Celebration Revealed, with an awesome, never-before-attempted FAC Presidential Panel!! Fremocentrist.com is being honored with the participation of three Fremont Arts Council Board Presidents:
- Current President Farley Harding
- Susan Harper, last year’s President
- Maque daVis, retired FAC ‘President-For-Life’ (and, btw, Maque’s been in 29 Fremont Solstice Parades, so far)
These long-time volunteers, who have worked with the non-profit Fremont Arts Council will talk about the history, personalities and opportunities the Fremont Solstice Parade & Celebration have created in our community. The iconic and legendary events have engaged and entertained hundreds of thousands of people, in Fremont and from far reaches of the Universe, created by handfuls of volunteers. Now, find out how!
Come learn more about how these artistic opportunities for expression are created, and what they have become for the participants. Kirby Laney will moderate a discussion among the Presidents, and provide plenty of time for questions and answers from attendees. Questions big and small can be asked, with a chance to get answers from intimately involved members of the Fremont Arts Council.
This presentation, appropriate for all ages, will share secrets and simple ways ordinary citizens, through grassroots, people-powered means, build these signature Seattle events. See you Saturday, May 26th at 2p!
