On Sunday, June 10th, the Seattle Rock’N’Roll Marathon returns, this time benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, bringing more than 18,000 runners and walkers to our streets.

Drivers, and anyone trying to get around through Downtown Seattle and surrounding areas, are encouraged to adjust their travel plans and times to reduce stress.  A map of the roads affected can be seen on the Rock’N’Roll Marathon website.

For Fremont, the Rock’N’Roll Marathon will close the Aurora Bridge and Aurora Avenue from East Marginal Way to Green Lake Way.  However, for anyone going south from the Center of the Universe, the Rock’N’Roll Marathon will close Nickerson Street and Westlake Avenue, plus 15th Avenue West, south of the Ballard Bridge.

The Rock’N’Roll Marathon will also provide musical entertainment at locations all over the race routes, including DJ Kippy (of The Ballroom) playing Top 40 music at the Aurora Ave & 41st St Pedestrian Viaduct, and Bottle Rockit and CUSTOM at the Woodland Park race site.

A part of the Seattle Rock'N'Roll Marathon will be musicians performing along the course during the morning of June 10th. Check the website (or this list) for the talent scheduled.
