PROOF Brings 48 Craft Distilleries From Around The State To Fremont!

On Saturday, July 7th, from 5:30p – 9p at Fremont Studios, the Washington Distillers Guild’s PROOF will gather 48 craft distilleries from around our State (with a few from Oregon and Canada,) to allow for sips and samples of hand-made spirits.  Find the finest of vodka, whiskey, gin, rum, bourbon, amaros, vermouth, and herbal liqueurs, while talking to the makers at this spectacular showcase, right here at the Center of the Universe.

In addition to offering samples of straight spirits, PROOF will offer recipes for creative cocktails crafted with locally made spirits – designed by master mixologists.  Try a sip of The Dirty Weekend, the Brown Sugar Bourbon Vanilla Milkshake, Gin Berry Fields, a POG Sunrise, Tropical Fizz, a Spiced Bloodgeon Orange, or one of a dozen others.

At PROOF attendees can learn about the small batch distilleries, and the makers of the spirits, by talking to the people pouring.  However, there will also be specialty education sessions, to allow attendees to learn more about such spirit-related topics as:

  • 5:45p – Booze & Oysters, by Austin Polley & Peter Christiansen, of Westward
  • 6:45p – Amaro & Herbal Liqueurs, by Brady Sprouse, of Barnacle, Walrus & Carpenter
  • 7:30p – The Sense of Scents:  What part does aroma play in enjoying the taste of fine spirits?, a panel discussion with author Lew Bryson, Aroma Academy’s Tom Johnson and Martin Duffy of Glencairn Crystal
  • 8:15p – Drinking Your Way Through The Garden:  How to grow delicious Pacific Northwest-inspired garden-to-glass cocktails, by Belinda Kelly of Happy Camper Cocktail Co. and Venise Cunningham of Simple Goodness Syrups
