The Seattle Public Library (SPL) provides plenty of cool places to hang out during hot weather but, unfortunately, the Fremont Branch Library is not one of them.
With the temperatures expected to climb again in the coming week, it is important to note that during extreme heat the Fremont Branch Library may have to close if the internal temperatures of this historic structure rise too high.
However, a majority of the Seattle Public Library locations have air-conditioning and welcome visitors to spend time and relax in the cool. The Ballard, as well as the Broadview, Greenwood and Wallingford Branches, are all available as safe places to escape from the heat.
Visit the SPL.org website for a map of all locations, and you can call 206-386-4636 to ask specific questions about library branches. For ADA accommodations, contact leap@spl.org
