Opening this weekend at West of Lenin see Steven Dietz’s ‘Lonely Planet’ featuring Michael Winters and Reginald Andre Jackson. Jackson just won a Gregory Award for his work last year in ‘Two Trains Running’ at the Seattle Rep. Come see these incredible actors performing in this intimate work at WofL.
From October 25th – November 18th, at WofL, see ‘Lonely Planet’, written and directed by an established theater talent, Steven Dietz. Set in a map shop, this poignant, funny and deeply moving play presents two friends struggling in a time of crisis and change. During the height of the AIDS epidemic, one friend retreats inside his shop, while the other, a fantastical and extroverted friend, forces him to face the outside world. Through surreal extravagance, and friendship, the two are forced to acknowledge their vanishing community and come to terms with their loss.
Tickets for ‘Lonely Planet’ can be purchased through the West of Lenin box office, and Brown Paper Tickets (click here.) The show runs Thursdays – Sundays, with an industry night on Monday, November 12th and on November 4th, an opportunity for a discussion about the play’s themes and where we are 25 years after the premiere of this powerful play.
