On Saturday, December 8th, from 11a – 7p, the first-ever Fremont Music Festival, as a part of Fremont Festivus, will take place at Fremont Mischief Distillery.
This day-long, FREE, all ages concert is ideal for drop-ins, and those who want to make an afternoon of enjoying music and the fine spirits created by Mischief! While out shopping the fabulous Fremont commercial district, or stopping at the Center of the Universe for a delicious bite, stop in at the Distillery to enjoy music and dance performed by emerging, local talents.
The Fremont Music Festival celebrates the talents of younger and undiscovered performers, and we hope to see all our neighbors come out and show their support for these amazing artists, including:
- 11a – VAM Studios’ dancers – on the heels of a successful ‘Winter In VAMland’ show, our local dance school will bring in some dancers to show us all how it can be done.
- 1p – Los Buhos – Featuring Laura Oviedo and Marc S. Mason, this quartet will play Latin music from around the Western Hemisphere. Hear son, bossa, rhumba, bolero, and more in this unique setting.
- 2p – Seattle School of Rock House Band – the school offers music programs designed to inspire students to learn and develop. This group of talented young musicians perform regularly all over, and represent some of the most proficient musicians at the school.
- 3p – The Great American Train Wreck – a female-fronted band based in Americana and Southern rock, this band combines melodic guitar and thoughtful lyrics with improvisation and unpredictable blending of multiple musical genres.
- 4p – 2 Libras – Let the low, dark, electro-synth lines of the music of 2 Libras focus you while the drum beat fuels your fight. 2 Libras makes you dance, laugh, and play your part in this beautiful yet chaotic world.
- 5p – Villain Plays The Victim – A hard rock band from Fremont, and formed from several different bands, this group goes back to the roots of flat-out hard rock!
…and at least one more, soon-to-be-identified band. With professional sound and back-of-stage equipment provided by American Music, expect some expert sound from these interesting entertainers. The whole day will also be presented by KBFG 107.3FM, our local, low-power radio station.
In addition, there will be beverages and snacks – plus B. Fuller’s Mortar & Pestle Tea, pie and bratwurst for purchase. This is a great place to start your day, or take a break from shopping and dining out during the day. Or, start your evening in Fremont, before the parties and drinking, at Fremont Mischief Distillery – with music and drinking!
It promises to be a great day for fun and free entertainment! Especially as it contributes to all the free activities and games going on during Fremont Festivus. Find out about the other events – especially the Alterna-Steam SteamCrawl – on the Fremont Festivus website (click here.)
