Arts Council Luminata Lantern Walk & Workshops Result In More Art

On September 22nd, the Fremont Arts Council (FAC) will lead its Luminata Lantern Walk around Green Lake once again, to celebrate the Autumnal Equinox.  This beautiful, illuminated walk will be brightened by hundreds of lanterns, most made by hand, and many of them for sale before the walk begins.

A stunningly gorgeous variety of lantern designs have been made in open, public workshops hosted by the Arts Council over this past month.  The selection of saleable lanterns is so strong this year that the FAC has decided to open its fundraising Lantern Shoppe a little earlier this year.

On Sep 22nd at 6p, outside the Aqua Theatre at Green Lake (at the Small Crafts Center,) find hand-crafted, portable art lanterns for sale – and help fund the Luminata Lantern Walk.

Luminata is a community stroll from the Aqua Theatre to the Bathhouse Theatre, lit by lanterns, and illuminated art, after dusk.  Accessible to all ages and abilities, Luminata is a fun, art-filled evening’s walk intended to brighten and lighten all participants.

For those who want to make their own lanterns, with help or without, can still attend a free, public workshop in the Arts Council workshop The Powerhouse, at 3940 Fremont Ave N.  Workshop attendees can find materials and advice in the workshops, and can make one lantern for themselves after making one or two for sale.

The final two workshops for 2018 will take place:

  • September 19th, Wednesday, at 6p
  • September 20th, Thursday, at 6p
