The Fremont Arts Council (FAC) is involved in two extremely creative and unique events – and they are looking for others to join in the celebrations!

On January 22nd, from 6p – 8p, the FAC Board will host a mixer at The Backdoor where attendees (21+) can meet with the arts organization’s leadership, and ask questions about all their activities, including:

  • On Sunday, March 3rd, the FAC will once again produce the Petit Troll Parade during Mardi Gras.  Done in the spirit of the Carnival celebration, the FAC will organize a flash-mob procession through the Fremont Sunday Market, pulling miniature floats (shoebox size), to the music of a marching band.  Leading up to Petit Troll, the FAC will host free, public workshops in The Powerhouse.  Check the Powerhouse calendar on the FAC website (click here,) or stop in for the FAC Committee Of the Whole (COW) meeting on Tuesday, February 12th at 7:10p at The Powerhouse (3940 Fremont Ave N.)

The February 12th COW meeting is open-to-the-public, and provides a great way to learn more about the activities and opportunities of this unique arts organization.  Best of all, as the FAC begins planning for the 2019 FAC Solstice Parade (coming on June 22nd,) this is a great time to get involved and make a difference in the event production.

The FAC would also like to see any photos you have of their spectacular events:  Luminata, TrollOween, Feast of the Winter Solstice, and Solstice Parade.  Check out the Google.docs page (click here,) to find out how to share these singular images.

Also, if you have any glitter or goo-gahs you want to donate, the Fremont Arts Council could use them to brighten up their costumes and creative float-making.  Decorations are especially needed for building the miniature floats at the Petit Troll building workshops.  Find out about donating, time, talent or, even, a few dollars, on the FAC website (click here.)

Finally, if you have ideas about events that the FAC produces, or one that you think they should consider, on February 5th at 7p at The Powerhouse, the Arts Council Events Leadership Team meets.  Bring your ideas and your willingness to see them through to the meeting – and get involved in celebrating with the Fremont Arts Council.
