Tasty, balanced cocktails use bitters, and every bar has their own select bitters for their use.  For those wanting a selection for their home bar, to make extraordinary drinks for themselves and their guests, The Barrel Thief Wine & Whiskey Bar is hosting a credited class – through North Seattle College – in How To Make Your Own Cocktail Bitters.

On Monday, February 25th, at 6:30p, at The Barrel Thief, learn how to create a basic bitters base, experimenting with different infusions of aromatic plant extracts for custom flavors.  The class will allow students to create two 4-oz bottles of bitters, including the base spirit and a variety of bittering and flavoring agents, plus reusable infusion jars and dispensing bottles to take home.

Registration for the class must be done through North Seattle College (click here,) and the registration fee is $39.  An additional $20 materials fee, payable to the instructor during class, is also due.  It’s all a small price to pay to be able to mix a mighty fine cocktail at home, or provide a special gift for all the DIY bartenders on your gift lists!
