Now that summertime distractions have waned, a Taiji & Qigong class is an ideal way to find the ‘inner tortoise’ while working legs hard, softening chronic tension patterns and coaxing the mind to give us a break from the constant chatter of a hectic life.
At Karin Collins Taijiquan & Qigong, at 222 Etruria St, #200 (on the south side of the Fremont Bridge) classes will start soon – some this week – in this proven mind-body fitness practice. Starting practice as soon as possible is best – younger rather than older, sooner rather than later and more often rather than less.
Classes take place regularly throughout the fall, and/or register for some up-coming weekend workshops!
A Five Phases Qigong workshop, on Saturday, September 17th from Noon – 2p, will study the relationship of the five element theory of Chinese traditional medicine, and show how to incorporate the phases into basic meditation and breath practice. Sword Basics will take place on Sunday, September 18th from 10a – Noon, and allow participants to study the basic exercises and drills of the traditional Chinese Straightsword. Register for these for $25 for one, or both for $40.
Also, do you work for a company? Karin Collins would welcome to add more businesses to her corporate programs clientele, to incorporate the cutting edge of mind-body fitness into workplace environments. She can offer an adaptable range of customized programs, from on-site immersion classes to team building workshops.
