This Friday, March 1st, from 6p – 9p, the Fremont First Friday Art Walk returns with more art, and artists, on-display – for free!

This month, the FFF will begin with an eighth anniversary celebration for Pel’Meni Dumpling Tzar.  Help our friends celebrate eight great years at the Center of the Universe, with food, fun, cake and art – by artist Eli Wolff.  One of Wolff’s very first art shows was at Pel’Meni, and now this established and acclaimed artist returns to support the venue that gave him a start.

In addition to the anniversary party, check out three other great displays during the March 2019 FFF:

  • Watercolor illustrator Erin Darling at Portage Bay Goods – See the charming and whimsical storybook scenes and original animal characters of this Northwest artist.  Find original art, and prints, by Darling while also checking out the amazing assortment of spring gift items in the procrastinator’s favorite shop.
The Sumi-e art of Daniel Kahane will be on-display at Esters Enoteca for the March 2019 Friday Art Walk

  • Pen and ink artist Karl Trewhela at Frame Up Studios – Nature has a tremendous influence on this English artist who is forever fascinated with the detail, delicacy and emotional power of traditional drawing and ink work.  Trewhela uses fine pen points to create dreamy landscapes of visceral, therapeutic and meditative journeys exploring the absurdities of life.  Check out his work alongside the other art and frames of one of Fremont’s oldest operating retailers, which now offers photos from Getty Images.
  • Sumi-e brush and ink painter Daniel Kahane at Esters Enoteca – From his boat on Lake Union, Kahane creates the art works on display this month at this fabulous foodie eatery.  In addition to his naturalist paintings, Kahane teaches stringed instruments at Dusty Strings Music School and Aikido at the Two Cranes Institute.  Come enjoy meeting with this artist, who migrates with the seasons and brings a unique perspective that finds fresh expression in his art, while enjoying some of the special tastes at Esters.

  • Gothic illustrator Erika Rae Heins at Friday Afternoon Tea – Attend an artist’s reception for this pen-and-ink fiction illustrator best known for her Tolkein art.  Enjoy seeing her spooky side in a new series called ‘Unquiet Dreams’ based on classic stories of literature.  This collection of dark delights will be on-display in the tea shop throughout March, but during FFF meet the artist, with nibbles, sips and sample the amazing assortment of teas.

This will be a great night, for celebrating art and exploring our community!  Check out the FFF website (click here,) for a list of participating venues this month – and come enjoy the venues, what they all have to offer, and meet the artists that contributed to creating more great art at the Center of the Universe!
