The Fremont Arts Council Solstice Parade is tomorrow, June 22nd, at 1p, and the spectacular display of Celebration Art will be led off by the Solstice Cyclists, and 100s of other Painted Bicycle Riders.

This is contrary to early reports this year that said the ‘Naked Cyclists’ would ride after the Fremont Solstice Parade.  The Parade Organizers have tried to solve problems of congestion and delay caused by the sheer numbers of riders that try to participate in this ad hoc, and often last-minute, art installation.

Rather than have the Cyclists – the most organized and prepared of these are the Solstice Cyclists (click here to learn more,) – ride after the Parade, this year the Bicyclists will ride straight through the route, ending at the Fremont Arts Council Celebration at Gas Works Park.  There will be no organized looping of the riders, around and around, as they are moved slowly through the two-mile stretch from the start to the Park.

This means that the Fremont Solstice Parade is expected to follow the Cyclists IMMEDIATELY after the last bicycle crosses the start line at NW 39th St & Leary Way NW, without delay or drag.  This is the Parade of floats, ensembles, live music and dance – and more imagination and creativity than you have seen in a single seating!

See you there!
