On Saturday, August 10th, from 9:30a – 3p, Woodland Park Zoo (WPZ) visitors can take part in Wild Asia, a day of education and entertainments focused on how we can all help save Asian Wildlife.
Learn how our choices and actions can save the lives of Malayan tigers, greater one-horned rhinos, orangutans, tree kangaroos, and other endangered species native to Asia. Asia is home to many diverse and fascinating animal species, from sloth bears to playful otters, and conservation efforts are critical to aiding their survival in the wild.
On August 10th, WPZ animal keepers will talk and host enrichment sessions on how the Zoo is working to preserve counterparts to the Woodland Park residents in the wild, with Conservation Partners and through Wildlife Survival Programs. Visitors can collect animal cards during keeper talks, and see special enrichment presents given to the animals such as hidden food or scented items. These enrichment programs are aimed at promoting natural animal behaviors, and keeping WPZ critters mentally and physically stimulated.
WPZ visitors on August 10th can also enter to win rare experiences, including a behind-the-scenes visit with Ecki, the Zoo’s tree kangaroo, or a poster of paintings by Melati, a Zoo orangutan. Wild Asia activities are included in the regular zoo admission for August 10th. For more information, visit the Zoo.org website (click here.)
