Learn To Make Waterfall Light Towers With the Fremont Arts Council

In advance of this community arts event, the FAC will host workshops for building lanterns.
In advance of this community arts event, the FAC will host workshops for building lanterns.

On Saturday, September 7th from 1p – 5p, join Batik artists Courtney Hann and Lisa Marcus for a public class on techniques to transform two ten-foot tall towers into a glowing waterfall for the Luminata Lantern Walk.  This class will take place at the Fremont Arts Council (FAC) Powerhouse, and is free.

The Fremont Arts Council’s Luminata will take place on Saturday, September 21st at Green Lake, where everyone is invited to celebrate the autumnal equinox with lighted art installations and hand-made lanterns.

The FAC is offering public, free workshops for making lanterns, for taking home and for selling at the Luminata event.  Check the FAC Powerhouse calendar (click here) for the schedule of workshops.

The Waterfall Light Towers class will start with sample squares for participants to learn on, for building chandeliers, before moving on to assisting in the building of the waterfall and completing this community art installation.

Stop by the FAC Powerhouse, at 3940 Fremont Avenue North, to find out more about this open workshop and class – or visit the FAC website (click here,) or the FAC Facebook page.
