You know everything is better in Fremont. I know everything is better in Fremont. Let’s see that the world knows it! Vote for your favorite Fremont business in the KING 5 Best Of Western Washington competition.
While the contest does require voters to register, Lisa Magetteri, of Fremont Jewelry Design, has won best designer jewelry twice, and reported that the honor gave her business a big boost. In these days of financial instability for so many of our small businesses, consider how the simple act of casting an electronic ballot could increase the exposure of our favorite businesses!

Have a care, however, as a few short-sighted folk have nominated, for “Biggest Public Eyesore,” The Fremont Troll, The Lenin statue, and Gas Works Park. I’m asking you – have these people never seen the Gum Wall, EMP, or the main branch of the Seattle Public Library?
Also, a few fondly remembered but no longer operating Fremont businesses took a nomination. Feel free to vote for them, aware that these exist only as fond memories at the Center of the Universe:
- Best Italian – Pontevecchio
- Best Sandwich Shop – Mama’s Brown Bags
- Best Bookstore – Fremont Place Books
So, go vote before October 9th, and let the world know that Fremont has the very best of Western Washington, and the Universe! If you do know of Fremont businesses nominated but not on this list – yet – feel free to drop a word to instigator@box2219.temp.domains
