According to the Seattle Police Department (SPD) blotter, by Detective Renee Witt, at approximately 2a on Saturday, December 10th, a man in his 20s drove his vehicle into a crowd of six people, near Phinney Avenue North and North 36th Street.
This would be after last call, and the time when this area of North 36th fills with pedestrians exiting area clubs and bars. While first responders from the Seattle Fire Department tended to the wounded, SPD immediately apprehended the driver and processed him for D.U.I. Traffic Collision Investigators gathered evidence until 6a, and it appears alcohol may be a contributing factor in this collision.
Five of the six pedestrians struck were taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment, with four of those listed in stable condition. As of late Saturday morning, one 21-year-old male was listed in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. The sixth pedestrian declined aid.
