This Friday, January 6th, during the Fremont First Friday Art Walk, from 6p – 9p, Frank & Dunya will host a long-awaited solo art exhibit of works by the shop’s owner, Emiliya Lane.
Lane has been drawing since the age of three, and worked for 15 years in the animation industry. For the last decade, she has owned and operated Frank & Dunya, Fremont’s shop for unique art and artisan works by area artists and crafts persons.
Recently, however, Lane achieved a major breakthrough in her own art, and painting alla prima. The result is a formidable collection of paintings, Fragments of Life, which draws from a wide variety of snapshots captured by her discerning eye. These still life and landscape scenes grasp the essence of everyday life and humble objects that often contain deeper meaning.
An Artist’s Reception will be held for Lane this Friday, January 6th, during the Art Walk, however the full exhibit will be on display the entire month of January at Frank & Dunya.
Unfortunately for Fremont, the exhibit will launch an exciting new chapter in Lane’s life as Frank & Dunya, “a sensible marketplace for all Northwest artists,” moves, in February, entirely onto the World Wide Web. The mission of the store will remain the same – connecting artists with customers, promoting and supporting a vast arts community and providing artisans and buyers with high-quality service.
So, be sure to stop by Frank & Dunya either while out walking the art this Friday, or during the month of January, to explore for the last time this 23-year staple of Fremont’s business district.
