After an unavoidable, but thankfully brief, delay, the new location of the Fremont Anytime Fitness opened on Wednesday, January 4th in the LakeView Building, at 837 N. 34th St.
Located behind the ‘Late For the Interurban’ statue (of J.P. Patches and Gertrude dancing the do-si-do) by Kevin Pettelle, and across the street from Istanbul Imports, the new gym location has already proven much more visible – and a popular target for those wanting to actually follow-thru on New Year resolutions!
Co-owner Sean Erhardt spoke enthusiastically about the move back in December, he still expressed his surprise, “by how excited and welcoming the community has been to have us right here.” He’s heard warm welcomes from building neighbors (including Tableau Software, Übermind and Groundspeak,) neighboring storefronts (Salsa Con Todo and Milstead & Co,) and the building’s security team.
In addition, on Thursday, January 5th, “I set a record for sign-ups,” Erhardt admitted, most of them people who work nearby and live in Fremont.
The move did cause a lot of upheaval, and Erhardt and his business partner, Darren Gillespie, are hard at work getting the gym settled into the new space. Members can expect to see daily progress on improvements. Gillespie has worked hard on straightening out the details, but he still reported that, “feedback has been good. Overwhelmingly positive!”
Stop by to take a look – either peek in the large windows along 34th Street, or step inside during staff hours and allow Erhardt to give you a tour…any time!
