For the last traditional screening of the 2011 season of the Fremont Outdoor Cinema, on August 13th at dusk, the parking lot will be lit by the neon illumination of TRON.
The original 1982 film, released by Walt Disney, played on our fears of humans being sucked into the digital world. As if that could ever happen! The film starred Bruce Boxleitner (don’t remember him? well, he probably doesn’t remember you either…,) Cindy Morgan and Jeff Bridges. A high-paced, visually stunning film that has long been undeservedly overlooked…yes, I’m a fan!
Come enjoy this last opportunity to sit on the pavement, enjoy ridiculous games and watch a movie the way no one ever imagined it might be seen! Movie starts at dusk, but arrive when the gates open at 7p to assure a quality campsite! Cost is $5 per person.
Notes on upcoming shows – there will be no Outdoor Movie on August 20th, and instead the parking lot will feature a Dorkbot ThingsOut exhibition at 5p and then Ignite Seattle 15 at 8p – cost is $5 per person.
On August 27th, Fremont Outdoor Movies have promised ‘The Return of the Dude,’ a sure-to-be raucous celebration with Jeff ‘The Dude’ Dowd, White Russians and a screening of the film The Big Lebowski. All this will be 21+ and tickets can be purchased through the Cinema Eventbrite site.
