On Tuesday, July 24th, at 7:30p, the Nickerson Street Saloon will host a kick-off meeting for everyone in the Fremont community interested in learning more about Greenways – and how to get them in Fremont.
Greenways are slow, low-traffic streets connecting parks, libraries, schools, and businesses for pedestrians and bicyclists who need safe and comfortable routes through the city. Placed a block or two away from major arterials, Greenways create a park-like atmosphere mostly by limiting cut-through traffic and adding some park-like amenities.
At the meeting, learn more about how these can be created in Fremont, what the community will need to do to get them, and get updates on the progress being made in other neighborhoods in Seattle towards building a Greenways system.
