On Sunday, February 10th, from 2p – 3:30p, the Fremont Branch of the Seattle Public Library (SPL) will host one of the celebrations taking place all over the city.
For the first time in at least a century, all libraries are open on Sundays – and from January through May 5th, branch libraries all over Seattle will mark the occasion.
These special celebrations will feature a children’s craft activity taught by the Nature Consortium, refreshments and an opportunity to participate in the Check-Out Sundays Challenge. The February celebration will also feature an exhibit on historical materials as part of the SPL Neighborhood History Project.
Come help celebrate the expanded hours (funded by a levy approved by voters in August 2012,) and the incredible resource of our public branch library.
Also, while at the Fremont branch library, check out the five new library card designs available – and replace the one you have for free in 2013.
Four feature photographs of iconic Seattle sites: Pike Place Market, Space Needle, Mount Rainier, and the Central Library building. The fifth card is one dedicated for used by children.
