This Friday, February 15th, at 9p, the Hot 8 Brass Band will perform at The Tractor Tavern (in Ballard,) with Kissing Potion. This concert is presented by KEXP 90.3 FM, and produced by Dead Nation and Fremont favorite Al Parisi, to prove that the spirit of Mardi Gras and New Orleans can be celebrated all year long!
To hear (and see) more of Hot 8 Brass, visit them on YouTube and/or Facebook – or buy tickets to the show at the Tractor for Saturday, promoting the Band’s new album ‘The Life And Times Of…’ available now on Tru Thoughts Records. Many may already know the Hot 8 Brass music from director Spike Lee’s documentaries ‘When The Levees Broke’ and ‘If God Is Willing And Da Creek Don’t Rise,’ and the HBO Treme TV series.
Opening act Kissing Potion will also move audiences as they bring funk & soul to life. With a full horn section that brings new meaning to the phrase ‘Funk You!,’ Kissing Potion also has a rhythm section whose groove will be felt from the soul down to the toes! This ‘lady-laden lair of Funk’ can be dirty, gritty, smooth and pretty…or anything they want, as long as it’s funky!
Find more information, and tickets for only $15, on TicketWeb – or on the Facebook event page. This 21+ only show may take you a bit out of Fremont, but the music will transport you right to the Center of Your Soul-iverse.
