Fremont Fireside Chat Features A Familiar Friend

At the original installation of the Fremont Guidepost, Maque da Vis (left) and Hans Hendrick in 1995.

On Saturday, May 25th, at 3p, the second Fremont Fireside Chat will take place at History House.  This time, Kirby Lindsay will interview one of Fremont’s favorite characters – Maque da Vis!  da Vis has made volunteering into art, and art out of volunteering, at the Fremont Arts Council.

This year, the FAC will hold its 25th Annual Solstice Parade on June 22nd at 3p, and da Vis will be a part of the merriment and mayhem.  In addition to serving as the former Ex-President-For-Life of the FAC, da Vis has also participated in construction of the Fremont Troll (and Trolloween,) developing the Fremont Players, producing Cirque du Flambe (and Fremonster Theatrical,) creating Moisture Festival, corralling Fremont Trolls, installing the Fremont Guidepost, etc.  da Vis has been a busy boy in his years at the Center of the Universe.

Hear from Maque da Vis as Fremont prepares for June, a.k.a. ‘Fremont Month,’ and its celebration of all things Fremontish.  Enjoy an hour-long program, and then a juice-and-cookie reception to follow in the Sculpture Garden courtyard of History House.
