‘GiveBIG’ for books, and support Seattle Public Libraries May 15th

On Wednesday, May 15th, support the Seattle Public Library with a donation to the Seattle Foundation ‘GiveBIG’ challenge and the Seattle Public Library Foundation.  Calling the day ‘GiveBIG for Books,’ the Seattle Public Library Foundation wants to urge the community to fund the materials collections of our libraries with their monetary donations.  Seattle Public Library Foundation funds about one out of every five books on our library shelves.

A community-wide giving campaign, ‘GiveBIG’ can raise millions of dollars for local non-profits.  Generous giving to local causes can make Seattle a healthier, more vital place to live.  Donations can be made by credit card on-line between midnight and midnight on May 15th through the Seattle Foundation website.

The first $50,000 donated to the Seattle Library Foundation will be matched by the Seattle Library Foundation Board.  All donations to non-profits on May 15th, through the Seattle Foundation, will be matched by sponsors with those charities that raise the most money receiving the largest portion of matches.

Donors to The Seattle Foundation ‘GiveBIG’ campaign can also be entered into drawing for ‘Golden Ticket’ prizes.  Visit The Seattle Foundation website for more information about ‘GiveBIG’.
