On Saturday, June 1st, at 11a, the City of Seattle will officially dedicate the honorary name of ‘J.P. Patches Place’ onto a portion of one of Fremont’s most traveled streets – N 34th St. Please join us as we honor Seattle’s favorite clown, with his family and local celebrities, at this once-in-a-lifetime event.
Gather at History House, near the ‘Late for the Interurban’ statue of J.P. Patches & Gertrude (created by Kevin Pettelle, and paid for by donations from fans and friends,) and the nearly-authentic recreation of the set from the outrageously popular and long-running television program. Join the family of Chris Wedes in remembering the man who gave so much joy, mixed with mischief, to generations of young people, along with MC Pat Cashman and Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn.
The dedication ceremony will take place in the Sculpture Garden of History House, a covered, ADA accessible space. It is a free event, open-to-the-public. For more information, contact History House at info@historyhouse.org or 206/675-8875.
