Thank you to everyone who turned out for the second Fremont Fireside Chat, held May 25th at History House, most especially our special guest, Maque da Vis, who enthralled the small audience with his story of volunteerism and parade. da Vis gave his personal history with Fremont, and the Fremont Arts Council – in between working on the 25th Solstice Parade coming June 22nd at 3p.
Plans for the next Fireside Chat, in early August 2013, are developing. At this time, a topic or guest has not been set – and Fremocentrist.com readers are encouraged to submit their request! Are there specific details of Fremont history, explanation of Fremont culture, or personage important to Fremont’s cavalcade of characters, that you’ve always wanted to know more about? The open, live format of the Fireside Chat – and the comfortable, living room atmosphere of History House – make this an ideal setting for learning and engaging on a variety of topics. What do you want to hear next?
The Fireside Chat series takes place in front of the eco-friendly televised fire at History House, as a free, open-to-the-public presentation on the history, culture and people of our area. The Fremont series is hosted by Fremocentrist.com, and sponsored by area businesses.
To submit your suggestion for the next Fremont Fireside Chat (shall we take the series on a walking tour – carrying a torch for Fremont, as it were?) send an e-mail to instigator@box2219.temp.domains or post your idea on the Fremocentrist.com Facebook page.
See you soon!
