This weekend our local museum, History House of Greater Seattle, offers two free, enriching afternoon’s entertainments appropriate for all ages.

On Saturday, June 8th, at 2p, a public discussion for the Discovery Modelers Education Center (DMEC) will reveal the history and creation of three detailed models of ships that significantly influenced the history of the Pacific Northwest.  Detailed models created by DMEC of the H.M.S. Discovery have been on display at History House since December 2012.  Learn about how the models were created and all about the maritime significance of these ships.

Then, on Sunday, June 9th, from 2p – 4p, another concert in the 9th annual weekly ‘Music In The Sculpture Garden’ series will take place.  Held in the covered courtyard, this week enjoy the music of Seattle’s own singer-songwriter Jim Page.  His topical songs take on modern American culture with wit and wry humor.  Also listen to the Americana Plus of the duo of John Weiss & Randall Walker, as they share songs of the South, the Cowboy and Classic Country – and even some Rock-n-Roll.

Both of these free, family-friendly events will take place at History House.  For more information, contact 206/675-8875, info@historyhouse.org, or visit the History House website.
