On Sunday, June 30th, from 2p – 4p, kick back in the covered courtyard at History House for another installment in the 9th Annual Music In The Sculpture Garden (MITSG) summer concert series. This time, enjoy the talents of a Pacific Northwest icon – P.K. Dwyer – along with the comic sensibility of singer-songwriter Howlin’ Hobbit.
P.K. Dwyer has been entertaining the Pacific Northwest region with his original songs and unique performance style since the early 1970s. He continues to travel the backroads of the West Coast, and beyond, bringing his Cosmic American Blues to audiences gathered at street corners everywhere.
Playing old-skool jazz, hokum, novelty and original music, Howlin’ Hobbit sounds like Louis Prima – if Prima had played ukulele with a dash of Leon Redbone and a soupcon of Louis Armstrong thrown in for good measure. Displaying an off-beat sense of humor, an eclectic taste in music and a finely honed sense of showmanship refined over nearly 30 years of performance, Howlin’ Hobbit may have you howlin’ as well at this week’s concert.
Come enjoy this free, open-to-the-public concert at History House of Greater Seattle. Take a relaxed break from the summer sun (or rain) spent shopping the Sunday Market or dining your way ‘round Fremont. Music In The Sculpture Garden concerts entertain entire families, so bring the gang along!
Also, please note, History House will be closed July 3rd – 9th for the Independence Day holiday, so there will be no MITSG concert on July 7th but the fun continues on July 14th, from 2p – 4p, with Michael Guthrie and Christian Elmer Reise.
