Community Of Support for Alzheimer’s Caregivers

On the first Monday of each month, from 2p – 3:30p, – next on July 1st – those caring for someone with memory loss can attend an Alzheimer’s Association caregivers support group, to learn and gain wisdom from others caring for a person with memory loss.

These groups serve as an opportunity for participants to receive information on case management, available services, and current research and treatment options, in addition to providing a community of support.

Alzheimer’s is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States, and the only cause of death in the top ten without a prevention plan, cure or method for slowing its progression.  In 2012, nearly 323,000 people in the state of Washington cared for loved ones living with dementia.  The Alzheimer’s Association is the world leader in Alzheimer’s disease research and support, with a vision to see a world without Alzheimer’s.

Attend this free support group for unpaid care partners, family members, and friends of individuals with memory loss.  These monthly groups will take place on the first Monday of each month, from 2p – 3:30p, at the Wallingford Community Senior Center.  For details, contact facilitator Katie Neuman at 206/529-3875.
